The San Jacinto Chapter selects an outstanding Texas History teacher each year to receive the Marian Beckham cash award and to be entered into the DRT contest.
DRT honors a 4th and 7th grade Texas History Teacher each year at our annual Convention.

DRT has a contest each year with awards for outstanding essays by 4th and 7th graders. To be entered into the DRT contest, entries should be sent to the San Jacinto Chapter DRT which awards cash prizes!

The San Jacinto Chapter has already awarded college scholarships for 2026. Please check back in early 2027 for the announcement about 2027 scholarships.
